Rust found in my fuel lines.....
I'm new and need a bit of help / advice. I am currently re-lining the tanks on my 94' springer. When I washed them out huge chunks of the old liner came out as well as a s**tload of rust. This got me to looking at the hoses. I took a couple of q-tips attached to a wire hanger and found rust in there as well. Now I've been using and in-line filter to the carb for a while but I suspect this rust build up has been an issue since before I bought the bike used two years ago.
I said all that to ask this. What kind of damage should I worry about to the carb and the rest of the engine? What's a good way to check?
I appreciate your input.

Here are a few of the old liner chunks.

So I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned the tanks until no chunks came out. I must have run 70 gallons of water through them after the acid bath. Last night I have actually finished lining the tank with Red-Kote and I must say, I doubt I'll have to worry about it much after all this. I can give a detailled account of what I did if anyone is interested. Oh, and I did it all for $37.85 and it took me around 9 hours (only because it was in such poor shape)
Bunkerbeer - As for going to a dealer I live 50 minutes away from one and I have a local mechaninc, but much like many others I'm running on hardly any budget at all.
Tom84FXST - I'm not sure if I read you right. Are you saying that an in-line fiter is a bad or unnecessary thing? As for buying a new tank, like I said above, hardly any budget.
