Default Fishtail help needed ???

Hey guys and gals, heres my situation. Im looking for a certain fishtail sound
( loud and obnoxious ) so that when i llet off the gas she ( 04 fatboy ) sounds like a 1980 model chevy dually with frickin cherry bomb mufflers on it !! You know the sound. Love it or hate it, thats the sound im lookin for. A couple of forum vendors have offered some really good prices on the vance and hines true dual set up that i have to add the fishtail tips too, but i dont know if this system will give me what im looking for. I know alot of you guys run the samson set up but the price seems to be quite a bit pricier. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.......thanks

I don't think it will. What you're looking for is the old school narrow gap fishtails on a long straight pipe. I used to love that sound, but I'd hate to have it in my neighborhood.
Some of us actually have respect for other people on this ball of mud.

I ran Samson TD"s with fishtails for a few years. They will sound like you want as long as you get them WITHOUT baffles. The diameter of the pipe is not the issues, the baffles are. NO BAFFLES and you will be in heaven with a set of Samson's. A couple of friends have the V&H versions and it is not even close to the sound of the Samson's as they have baffles in them.

The set that I'm running will give you that sound. They are a slip on.. These are from Ted's Vtwin... They are a knock off of Samson's..... They come without baffles, and they are on ebay all the time. I have them set up on a set of Samson headers.....I also baffled them, because they gave me a headache.

As much as I love the sound of my V&H true duals I do not think that it is the sound that you are talking about. So not sure if that is the route you want to go.

From the side, those look like the oldschool type - you know you got it when it raps off between every shift or the slightest backing off of the throttle. And yeah, they're able to give you headaches, but not as bad as the riders behind you!
