2) one more question (i like ur bike). are those samson fishtails. I am thinking about ordering some for my scooter and just wondered how you like them as well.

First off thanks guys. I think I have it now. The only debate I have ever heard is compressing the shocks or not. The move will be from Florida to Colorado so I don't know if I want the pressure on them that long.

Kramer,
The pipes are Vance and Hines. I like them a lot and glad I went with them.

If you put the soft loops around the forks just above the fender support there will not be any pressure on your forks and seals. I would definitely not haul my bike from Florida to Colorado with my forks compressed that long when there is a way not to. Also I put 2 sets of tiedowns on the front in the event that something was to happen to one of them there is a back up. Tie downs are cheap compared to what you are hauling.

I trailer my bike everywhere for shows, I will take a picture or two this Saturday as I travel to a show about 50 miles away, and post them for you. Get yourself a Pingle WC650.

Get some tie down straps with soft hooks built in.

Tie the front down, don't worry compressing the shocks for a long trip won't hurt them, the springs in a shock are spring metal and go right back to their original lenth when let loose, And the seals are tough enough to withstand the compression, the seals just don't like sudden bangging or jolt type compressions where they bottom out..
On the rear just run a strap thru the rim to a point at the rear of the trailer to stop the rear tire from moving much left to right. Do not try too compress the rear, only secure it from shifting left to right in case of an emergency stop the rear tire won't try to come around and pass the front.
