I searched the forum and couldn't get the info I needed...so sorry if this has been asked. If it has, If some one could post a link...if not some help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the Tools, Gaskets, and Permatex Anti Seize that I was told I needed to change the exhaust. This will be my first time doing this so if someone could give me some pointers that would be great. The more detailed the better ....thanks.

BTW: The pipes should be here today...so was hoping to get it done today. Only trying to do this myself so I just have to pay for dyno time and intake at the dealer....they are killing me with labor !!!!!

Hopefully you'll have instructions included... getting the old gaskets out and the new ones in without messing them up is sometimes a pain... start all the bolts in the heads and the mount, then tighten 'em up from the heads back. Wipe everything down with alcohol so fingerprints etc won't burn into the chrome... go for a ride!

It is pretty simple. I use a jewelers screwdriver to get the old gaskets out. Put in new gaskets, follow the instructions with the pipes. I use an extension on my ratchet to reach all the flange bolts. It is easier than you think. Like he said above, wipe down with rubbing alcohol to remove finger prints before you start the bike up so the finger prints do not burn into the pipes. And we want to see pics!

02 sensors are cake. Unplug them leave them in the pipes as you remove the old pipes. Then take them out, put them in the new pipes before you install the new pipes then plug them back in.

Also do the intake yourself. They are very easy to install. Save ya some more money.

Thanks for the response. As for the intake, I have to ride the bike about 25 miles to the dealer. I didn't want to change the intake cause I thought it might hurt the engine with the pipes and intake installed without proper tuning??? What do you guys think???

My input. I would do it and not even think twice. I would just ride it slow. When you take it in the first thing they are gonna do is a base run with the current settings and they get on them HARD!!!
