I posted this on the General topics too but thought some one here might be having the same problems.
I bought my new bags with a set of Easy Brakets. I like the quick release and don't have a problem with the look. It actually works out because it sets the bags out a bit which should allow me a bit larger bag because it clears the axle nuts.
On the right side I have absolutely no problems with the bag clearing anything, but on the left side I can see an indentation where the axle nut has met the bottom of the bag.
It seams that on the easy brakets the bags are able to swing in at the bottom over 1/2 an inch. It worries me to think that with a load that swingin might be worse. I've contacted them and will be giving them a call today...just wondering if anyone had any comments? Looks like I almost need support from the bottom for them.
Considering moving to the Brackets from Bubba's Brakes which has a support. If I can't this worked out (though it means I'll have some extra mounting holes in the bags[:@]).
Take a look at the pics of how the bubbas system looks on my Heritage in the thread subject line Recommendations for Quick Release here in the Softail section.
Your are right that the bubbas system does come with a 3rd point bracket that will prevent the bags from swinging. The Bubbasbrake web site seems to be going through an update or change to thier web site. Don't let that distract you though. Give them a call, talk to them and explain exactly what it is you have and what you are looking for. I talked to the guy for about a half an hour before I placed my order and he was very helpful in making sure I ordered exactly what it was that I wanted.
Blue, I'm sorry to see you are having problems because this is the exact set of bags and brackets I intend on purchasing. Keep us posted as to what you find out and if your problem is taken care of. I like the way your bike looks from the rear shot you posted and I'd almost hate to see you or I having to space it out even more away from the bike. I like the fact that they are tucked in and wouldn't want to space them way out away from the bike. Keep us posted. Jon
There's some angle difference between the easybrackets and ghostbrackets but can't remember which extends the bags out more.. Possibly ghostbrackets.
I'm liking my barebacks from cyclevisions sofar but I've got smaller bags and detach sissybar which extends them out that much more.
If I had it to do over.. it would be a bagger, and no worries.
I had a similar problem with my Easybrackets. It looked as though the left side bag was rubbing on the drive pulley sometimes. It is a simple fix. Remove the two lower bracket bolts and put several fairly large flat washers between the bracket and the side of the saddlebag. This will space the bag out at the bottom slightly and should give you more clearance. I used 3 washers on each bolt , each washer was about 3/32 thick or so. Hope this helps. I did both bags so the angle would be the same.

That's an idea...just don't want to get the bags messed up. Gonna try calling them again this morning. The 05 and 06 Deluxe do not have the extra Fender Strut holes to make the mounts closer and more solid. The stupid thing is I have the 1 " detachable setup on there too...so they should be no where close to hitting.
The answer was to raise the bags 2 inches.....duh....no thanks. (or get smaller bags)
Guess I'll see what the boss bags look like next week and figure out if I'm gonna change the whole setup or just modify what I have....very disappointing.
If there is a metal fabricating company near you, take the bracket there and have them kick it out a few degrees. That should eliminate a majority of the problem.

Yeah hubby is seeing what he can do....I'm concerned that putting any weight in the bags that they might swing in again...I think I might need some support.
