Just picked up a 2001 Fatboy with 3500 miles. Has a factory alarm. This thing is going to bug the living hell out of me. Don't want to have to worry about a key FOB, chirps, and sirens. Guy I bought from had the video and paperwork for the alarm...but damn it is a pain. I have read about a maxi fuse and the horn has a backup battery in it.
Is there a way (besides with a hammer) of disabling it permanently? Not just turning off...
New to posting but been reading forum for a while.
Disabling it should be a simple as entering the code using turn signals. Personally you can just put the fob in a pocket or saddle bag and it won't be a worry.
Just don't set it. I haven't set mine in years or carried the FOB with me....
Never had an alarm before or a harley this new....so sorry for the dumb questions...At this time I do not have it set...so I can leave the FOB at home? Also if the battery goes dead does it set the alarm when I put new battery in?
