Default mechanical question

lately my bikes exhaust has been popping a whole lot and i have noticed that there is a tinging coming from the engine. i thought it was the primary chain since i just changed the lube, now i am thinking it might be something different. my guess now is that maybe i screwed up my valves but the bike only has 10k on it. it has started popping when starting as well sounds like a gun shot. any info would be great thanks.

We need more info on the bike. Popping usually means there is an exhaust leak somewhere. Tinging you are mentioning sound like pinging. The bikes run real hot stock and this causes the engine to ping. Post your setup and we'll see what we can do.

Did it start popping after the Stage 1 install?

Any aftermarket tuner on it?

Do you have a tuner or the stage 1 download? My experience with the stage 1 download was that it was impossible to get rid of the backfiring on decel no matter what I did. Get a tuner and make sure there are no exhaust leaks. Sometimes a new set of exhaust gaskets will fix this, sometimes they won't.

My Roadking did this. Got progressively worse until I changed the plugs, then no more popping.
