Default Softail fxst and fxstd questions

Hi there, Im in the process of buying either a fxst or a duece. I read on other posts here about the differences between the two. But i do not like the rear fender as much on the deuce. I can get a good deal on a deuce with a not so nice paintset. and I also know someone with a very nice paintset off a fxst. my question is, since the frame are the same, will this fit right on? I know the tanks are different but will i only have a problem with the seat or are there more things going to be changed if I want to put a fxst paintset on a fxstd?

Thanks so much!

I doubt the tank would fit either.

Yeah. If you look at any parts book you'll notice "Fits all Softails except Deuce" a lot.

The Deuce is nice but can be a pain to buy stuff for.

That's what makes a Deuce unique

Personal preference, never liked anything about a duece. Rear fender, tank, everything. But that is why they make different bikes. I bought the standard because it is easy to build it into whatever you can dream up. YOu can go in any direction you want with it to make it your own. In my opinion Buy the fxst. I havent regreted my purchase yet

The FXST. I own one and a FLST. The standard is a blank slate with a lot of parts / customizing options available. Things so simple as a seat are a lot easier and cheaper to find. Get an 06 or newer because of the 200 rear tire. It is bad a......zz.
