Default New headers with old slipons?

I have a set of V&H Straightshot Slip-ons installed on my stock headers (07 Deluxe). I now want to lower my pipes so I can put on larger bags. I like the Straightshots, so was wondering, can I buy just new headers and use my existing straightshots? Any downsides to doing this?

Other than it being kinda of silly in my opinion to not just go with a whole new exhaust....should be fine ...long as header pipes are same diameter......

I was thinking it would be less expensive, which probably isnt the case.

Tru Dual header pipes run anywhere from 377.00(Kyry) on up so its your call if ya want to go all new or just headers but ya you'll be fine as long as you get the right size header for muffs.

A little more than half the cost of V&H Big shots I'm looking at. Thanks for the info.

What headers are you interested in? I will price them for you. As stated above, as long as they are both the same diameter it should not be an issue. If I were a good salesman I would try to sell you a full system, but I prefer to let people decide what they want for themselves. Drew

you are also gonna need a differant rear mounting bracket for the slip-ons if ya change where/how they mount now.

Thanks, I'll check 'em out. I definitely like the look of a "one piece" better than slip ons.

Not real sure about specific headers, but since I have V&H slipons probably something they make would be preferable. Mainly just want to lower the exhaust for bigger bags. I need to compare costs of just headers vs a full system because I'm also pretty interested in Big Shots Long.
