What causes a backfire through the air cleaner??
Just wondering...

Sloppy timing belt, weak valvetrain, timing off allowing combustion while the intake valve is open.

Mine does it also once in awhile, Harley told me it was normal? I thought it was carb issue, rejetted and it still does it, plugs look perfect.

Hey Himbees!
I was told by the dealer it's a cough. Sounds like popping air to but
could be a backfire...
Some people have told me that I'm too rich off the throttle. I now
have a 45 for my slow jet with a washer on my needle.
