Default Softail Lowering Kit work with FXCWC?

Hi everyone from Italy (Service Member serving overseas). My first post here, as I just got my brand new 2009 FXCWC Rocker C. Quick question, does anyone happen to know if the standard Softail lowering kit works on the FXCWC? I'm a little concerned about lowering the bike, as I'm already dragging pegs on tight turns but I need to come up with some solution, as I'm on my tip toes with both feet on the ground.

Get a Danny gray seat that will help. The progressive lowering bolts work, but you need hydraulic press...

Or get an air suspension.....

Welcome aboard Snoike.

Wife and I are active duty also. Wife has same issue on her Nightster. I would look into ways to lower your body instead of your bike. Maybe Le Pera bare bones seat?

You can lower the bike some, but (at least here in Vegas) there are speed tables to get on base that are pretty tall. Folks have complained about the height (even in their cars), but the base says that speed bump criteria dont apply since they are speed tables, not bumps.

Good luck and ride safe! I think even after 20 years of riding I would be iffy going into a 5 lane roundabout with the crazy, full gas-full brake italians!

Cheers.

A lowering kit will work but if you are concerned about ride height consider an air ride. Of course air costs a bit more, but is always well worth it.

2nd the Danny Gray, it made a big difference, both in height and comfort.
Good Luck and thanks for your service.

Hi +1 on the danny gray seat. but....if you also want to lower the bike don't do it because the seat will hit the fender

2 cents from a "crazy full gas-full brake italian" LOL

use the lowering bolts! you can do it without a hydraulic press! just use a jack!

I have the kit on mine - see pics. You'll need a buddy with a hydraulic press. Also, you could take out your OEM FXCW bump stop and replace it with the much smaller standard softail one. I am not hugely mechanically minded and I did the whole job with a friend in a few hours.

Thanks for the input fellas. I'm definitely going to take a look at the Danny Grey seat. I think the seat is DEFINITELY the first thing to go on this bike. Then I'll start looking at changing out the exhaust.
