Question Plate light question

I just installed a flip license plate with a LED frame.
Whenever I hook up the power wire to my accessory/marker wire I blow a 15amp fuse.

where should I hook up the wire so It turns on when the bike is on and i stop blowing fuses??? I wanna be able to ride at night etc.
thanks

I just bought some Tag Boltz, Red/White and I plan on splicing them directly into the Plate light, and the Brake light wires.

This may be the way you should go, but you will only need to splice into the existing plate light.

Be sure to solder, and heat shrink the splice.

Hope this helps!!

Make sure it has a real good ground.

Do things work fine when the lighted plate is not connected?

If so, and you have good connections, the plate it self may be bad???

You could test it by connecting it to a battery and see if it is fine.

it works fine when i connect it directly to battery, but if i connect the plate wire to the marker connection it blows the fuse immediately.
a 15amp fuse should be able to run it no problem

Well i played with it again today... hooked everything up kept blowing fuses right away even went from a 15 amp to 25 amp blows right away....

disconnected LED and hooked up incandescent bulb, works fine and draws more power with a bulb.

Conclusion is the plate light has to have a short in it. Ill be calling manufacture tomorrow to see if they will replace it, it has a LIFETIME WARRANTY.....
so we'll see..
