So, as some of you knew, I spent my winter in Iraq. While I was there I got this itch that I wanted a Street Glide really bad. Well, the wife said no new bike, If I wanted a Street Glide to just get a windshield and saddle bags. That was a mistake on her part.... I decided to take my 04 Softail Standard, swap the tins and front wheel to a Fatboy setup. That part is now completed.
Stage 2 (which I am hoping to start on next week) will be to put on a set of Bassani true duals with huge Rush 3.5" mufflers (2" baffles) and a 7" headlight. Once those 2 pieces are done, then I will be ready to start mounting up my batwing fairing with quick clamps and touring hard bags with the street glide filler panel and fender extension. So far, things are really coming together. I love the way it looks right now, so I just wanted to show off a little.
Cool, it will look awesome, but it still won't ride as nice as a SG.
No, it wont ride as soft and cushy as a SG, but personally I am not a fan of the touring bikes. I feel like I am sitting up on top of the bike too much, where on the softail the tank feels much higher in relation to the seat height. Also, I dont like the A motors. I am just not a fan of the shaking. If I eventually up going with an air ride system, I think it should ride just about as good as a touring bike.
