I know asking this question is like asking blonde or redhead? Well here goes, I want new exhaust for my 08 Fat Boy. Future plans are to put hard bags on it so I need something where the muffler or top pipe is about level with the axle. I want it louder then stock but don't want to be heard a mile away. A deep "rumble" sound if you will. I have heard the 2 into 1 are the way to go for power, but I not so much interested in power as I am sound and clearance. I like the traditional look of twin pipes. I think I like the looks of the V&H long shots or staggered shots.
I have been watching the classifieds for some used pipes but with no success. Okay lets hear those ideas. Also if you know of anyone with some used pipes let me know.
I have the same pipes and no heat issues. After almost 70 thousand milea I wish I got short shots. Not much louder and so much easer to replace the rear tire and if you want a different look you can turn those slash tips sideways or go to their web site and they have I think about 5 different styles of tips plus you can get the pipes in black too. Your choice though.
HunterBLT, you should hit up Drew at Dr. Vtwin. They are sponsors for this forum.
And he had a bunch of different pipes on his fatty. Not to mention he can hook up up with great prices on most exhausts. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...-few-here.html
I was gonna say V&H big shots too. Long or staggered. If you turn around your rear axle when you are putting the pipes on it is not an issue to change the rear wheel. We can get you what you want at a great price. Pm for pricing of what you want with year and model of you r bike. Don't forget black or chrome for the pipes.
