I would not buy Freedom either, but do not really know that much about them. Samson is well known for their fishtails and have been around for a long time. Everyone I know that has them is very happy. 2 1/4" diameter with full coverage heat shields. The only way to fly as far as I am concerned.

Might as well go 39" its not that much of a difference when you see them installed side to side, i have never had any complaints with my samsons

I have the Freedoms, and if I had it do over, I'd go with Samsons.

My pipes, in about a year and a half, have discolored significantly. The quality of the chrome is not all that great overall.

They do sound great, though.

That's the truth. They advertise them as fully heat shielded but, they are not and they discolor.

In addition to the above, their quiet baffles are so restrictive that their pipes with a big sucker 2 and TTS Master Tune made less horsepower than stock.

If you haven't heard much about them, I'd stay clear of that manufacturer. Samson and V & H have great reputations, stick with the masses, you won't regret it.
