Just this morning I noticed I had a thumbcrew on the handlebar which I am assuming is to lock the throttle. After all of the washing, drying and polishing that I've done, not to mention the fact that the thumbscrew is right where I hang my parking tag every day, I can't believe I've never noticed this before! Cool! I'm going to try it out later today!!!
I had mine for about a month before I saw it. I wasn't sure what it was for but that wonderful thing they call an owners manual did.
I use it from time to time when I'm having problems with my right hand falling asleep. It's weird getting used to but I like it. Just don't tighten it too much.
Tighten it just enough to keep the throttle from closing on it's own but not tight enough that you can't easily close the throttle with your hand.
It really does relieve some of the tension on your hand and wrist when riding.
Better yet, let me suggest you add what is called a "klever lever" which you can find on eBay. For $5 it snaps on the thumbscrew and with an easy flick of your thumb while riding you can very easily control the Tscrew and make easy use of the poorman's "cruise control"
