I use mine all the time with just enough tension to maintain the current throttle position. It gives your hand a break but allows you to throttle down easily. It took a little getting used to but know i am comfortable with using it and makes highway riding more enjoyable.

I use mine just about any time I'm gonna be at a steady speed for a while. Cool gadget!

I met Anthony & Dianna Lemoine (the inventors of ThrottleMate) in Sturgis this year. He "installed" the mate while I was there, it made the 672 mile ride home to Minneapolis so much more enjoyable.

It's not a true cruise control (as your speed is not maintained up or down a hill) but the ability to give the hand a rest is invaluable.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Funny,
I had an interesting dumbass moment with this device. I obviously had not noticed its details when I flipped through the owners manual. I just happened to be riding to work a couple weeks after I bought my bike and I hit the thing with my thumb and thought to myself, boy, this thing feels loose so I gave it a couple of short flicks with my thumb. A few minutes later I realized that when I let go of the throttle my bike just kept on going and scared the crap out of me. Luckily I was able to easily throttle back down with my hand. It still didn't dawn on my why that happened, I just assumed my throttle cable may need lube.......which is odd for a brand new bike.
The light came on later that day at work when I thought..why the hell would they make a cable adjustment so 'easy' to adjust and only on one cable....duh.
That night on the ride back home I played with it and now I use it whenever I want to give my hand a break, great little gadget.
