Rsd makes one that doesn't even have the cone shape to it,just flat.I think the 99 2000 and 2001 had a hole behind the cover for timing or some thing.

If you can get the bike stood up straight, you will not leak any oil. If you try it on your jiffy stand, you will probably lose a little. Get somebody to hold it up while you change it out or use this as a good excuse to by a jack if you don't already have one.

thats incorrect there used to be points there ? now why they havnt deleted it is for marketing reasons to sell said parts same $hit different wording

It's hard to believe that noone has come up with a locking cap for that area. I guess if Harley thinks we'll buy 'em, they'll make 'em! How about a cover with a sliding cap that locks with a key? Kind of like the locking gas cap. Good place for registration and insurance card if folded properly.

When I had my old Sportster, and the electronic ign. module went bad, I just changed it back to points and condenser. A lot cheaper than a new module, and I could fix it. With the money I saved, I bought one of those fancy covers. I think it even ran better with points.
