Just got back last night from our ride. We left home at about 5:00 AM and got home around 11:00 PM. I had 1,025 miles and my Dad had 1,064 mile on his bike. Kind of funny how the speedometers are off that much. Mapquest has the route at 1,036 miles. We probably stopped every 100 to 150 miles depending on how we were feeling. I think the worst of it was from the 400-700 mile mark. It was about the time when the soreness really started to kick in but you just kind of get over it and get used to it. It was fun and I'm glad I did it. Not sure if I ever want to do it again though.

I have done it and I going to do the 1500 soon, maybe this year still. My advice is to stay hydrated and be aware of the signs of fatigue. They can be as minor as having difficulty deciding whether to stop or not - stop.

Congrats on that achievement...Iron Butt rides are no joke.

Someday I'd like to give that a go, but absolutely NOT on my bike.

I wouldn't make it past 300 miles before pulling over, whining, and sucking my thumb like a little biznatch on the side of the road.

When I move up to a Glide...i'll give it a shot

We rode from basically about Fargo, ND to about 20 miles beyond Madison, WI. About 90% interstate. I took a few pics but we basically just stopped at gas stations so there isn't much to see.
