Default Springer question ... cross bones

Hi all, have had my bike just a few days, has 200 miles on now from new.

Have a question about the springer front, is literally solid, not even any give when rocked hard at a standstill on the front brake. This sound right?

Had heard that this model needs to 'break in' the front suspension but I just wanted to check other new owner experience?

Many thanks in advance; a newbie

Sounds right to me ... even after 5000 miles mine is still solid at standstill, but works like a charm on the road. Keep in mind you have to have the torque setting on the rockers checked at ±500 miles.

you should see it moving as you ride and hit small bumps and it should dive a little when you stop with the front brakes but it soften s up a little with some miles. Sounds normal.

I have about 6000 miles on my 08, its solid but when riding on a rough road you can see the front springs moving.

The springer should be serviced at 500 miles. Mine was very stiff upon delivery. The dealer told me mine was set up WAY too tight when they checked it at 500 miles. It was a far better ride after having it properly set.

I have noticed that even after servicing the forks it is pretty stiff for the first 50 miles or so before it loosens up. Should start springing pretty soon.
