I will have to try someone else on Monday, but don't know if I will find anyone to do this here. Only two HD dealers in town, and one has already told me they won't do it.

I didn't think it would be this hard to get this done.
Any motorcycle shop can mount that tire for you. Any indy dirt bike shop, honda-yamaha-suzuki-kawasaki motorcycle dealer that has a tire machine and balancer should be able mount your tire for you.

Check them all out (if there are other shops in your area).

The bottom line with your problem is simple, there is some liability for a shop to mount a 90-21 on a 3 inch or wider wheel. The tire company will not warranty the tire on a wheel that wide if you have any problems as it is out of there spec for that tire size.

It's all about covering your a$$ nowadays where a slip and fall lawyer will roast a shop that mounts that wheel if that rider goes down because of a front tire failure and wants a payday.

I don't like it one bit...but I do understand both sides.

Well like JayDee said hit up another shop. There is one up off Edmonton Trail & 32 ave, kind of up the hill i think that is an Indy. I have heard some good things about them and there prices. I'll be over at my pops place tomorrow and the guy across the alley has delt with them, i'll see if i can get you a number or name. And maybe try out Blackfoot Motosports? I know i dropped a rear there once that was way wider then stock and they swapped it out for me. Oh and maybe that TJ cycles on blackfoot trail towards 58 ave. Give them a try to bud.

A name or number on that shop at Edmonton Trail and 32nd would be appreciated. I will look around and see if I can find someone able to do it Sunday. Thanks for your help.

How about doing it yourself... it sounds to me that you have a wheel (without a tire on it) and a tire... it is not that hard to put a tire on a wheel and there are plenty of self help areas to look up how to do it... if your wheel has a tire on it and you can't break it down, just have the dealer do that much. Definitely tube it - even though a manufacturer's specs err on the side of caution and it would be ok without a tube. If your worried about balancing it use dyna beads... works great.

You could definitely give doing it yourself a try.

I would think taking a mounted tire off the wheel would be a little hard without the proper tools, I could see someone dicking up there wheel trying to pry a tire off of it.

But...putting a tire on a wheel might be pretty easy...just soap up everything, get it all nice and slippery...and give it a shot.

More to it than just mounting a tire... U need to balance it also but you probably could mount it at least and then take it to the shop and ask them to balance it. Just be sure to put your brake rotor on if you would happen to go that route.
