Default big bore?

So I'm at work with nothing better to do... I've been thinking about going with a big bore kit in my 09 flstc, and I'm wondering if you guys that have done it feel that you got your moneys worth out of it. I'm sure it makes a difference, but can you really feel it going down the road? Let me know what size you put in, and what you think of it.

I only changed the cam and added the PCV on mine I think you get more out of a cam and good tune I could be wrong but was told by the mechanic that you can get more for your money from a cam and tune

Well I did the cams first. Then I did the big bore with heads and pistons. I think the bigger difference was the bore and the heads. But if you do the whole nine, you will really like it. Mine runs strong and pulls hard, I love it.

The questions are How Big, How much Money and whats your riding style.
I would recommend talking to Scott from Hillside Cycles. He will ask you questions and listen to your answers, then suggest what is best. He answers all kinds of questions and makes suggestions in the engine section of this forum.

He set my bike up, and man what a beast.

I have cams only and added a 2 into pipe with a Dyno tune for PCIII and really felt a big difference. If you are going to bother to do cams you might as well do the big bore as you will have the bike partially apart anyway. I was unable to come up with the money for it all at once. I am doing a bog bore and cams on a friends bike here in a week or so I will let you know how much and how it went.

I think you will be happy with any route you choose. I opted for a big bore kit when I purchased my bike, and I have been really happy with it. I have a few friends with only stage 1 mods and they all want to go big bore now.
There are lot's of opinions on how to achieve more performance, good hp & tq #'s have been accomplished in many ways. Find a set up here within the forums that you like and copy what they did, no reason to reinvent the wheel.

I just got mine back, I went to a private builder as he truly matches the pistons instead of just getting them into spec. I did cams, air cleaner, power commander, and bored the motor, as well as pipes, you need to get the engine to breath, it cost me 1900, which included dumping all of the fluids on the bike. It is at the dealer today for it's oil change after the break in and I am getting it dyno'd for the numbers, hope to have the info later today or tomorrow.
