Do you guys think that if put a 95 to 97" big bore kit along w a stock set of 96" heads on my 88" it will perform pretty decently? i heads only have 10 miles on them an i can get them for free. already did andrews 26 cams an adjustable rods. Im NOT trying to break any land speed records here just want some more power i do alot of 2up riding.
There is a shop close to me. Rick only runs evo motors with twin cam top ends and cams.
His bikes are always strong.
I understand you are referring to a 88 twin cam. I was just showing that they do work. What kind of performance I don't know.
I would see if you can find some specs on both of em.
so it should give the bike a nice kick in the *** then? im thinking why not go for it since the heads will be new an wont cost me a dime. labor work will also be free for me. all the would have to buy is the big bore kit an gaskets etc..

I don't know how much HP & TQ will improve. It will be more then the 88 heads. You'll also be able to run higher lift cams. Main thing is to match your parts. Make sure everything works together. Don't forget you have to change the intake flanges
honestly i think it would be cheaper to do the big bore an put the 96" heads on then just work my heads. and i will also get more c.i.'s out of it.
Before I sold my '03, I was going to do the same thing. You already have the heads, do the big bore, '06 heads, thinner head gaskets. Your'e good to go. Put the 88 heads on the shelf, save some $'s, and get them worked. Or sell them and recoup some $. IMO With the cams you have you wouldn't gain much getting them ported.
