Hey guys,
Lastnight i noticed whenever i let of the gas and start slowing down my bike started to make a whinning noise. I'm not sure what its coming from, checked fluids and it rides and shifts perfect. Kinda got me nervous not sure what it could be...Any Ideas? Thanks
How old is your bike? after a few hundred miles on my new heritage, it started doing the same thing. I checked everything, and like you, found nothing. So I brought it to the dealer, he took it for a drive and said it was normal... BS I thought. Anyways, I decided that he knows best so I just left it, and sure enough, after a few thousand miles the noise was totaly gone. Hope that helps.
Does it come from the front or the back? You should be able to rule out primary and tranny if it is doing it with the clutch pulled. So look at what else moves if it is from the front possibly a wheel bearing if it is from the back once again could be wheel bearing or like you suggested drive belt. Then there is the ever endless possibility of something internal on the motor.
its a 03' softail.. just started making the noise.. not sure ill keep checking other things but hopefully it will just work itself out haha thanks
How many miles?
Why I ask is mine just rolled 6300 miles and I have a slight whine that just started recently as well, but all the fluids are full and the 5k was just done last year with all synthetics. I am just monitoring mine right now.
