Ha ha not really, but did take off the tank emblems and reflectors today, and took a few pics. Much better, and thanks to 1analguy for the advice.

Here is what Bob/1analguy sent me, I did exactly this for the tank, and the reflectors on the sliders and rear fender struts just pulled off. Goo gone is great stuff...

Subject: RE: Emblems

A friend suggested using dental floss. It didn't work. The concept is good, but when you pull as hard as you have to to cut the foam tape, floss will just snap in half on you. My girlfriend supplied me with some white nylon sewing thread that held up much better and did the trick. Mono-filament won't work because you need the "texture" (or roughness) of the thread to provide the cutting action. So, after you locate some of this sewing thread, here's what you do: you are going to use the thread to "floss" between the emblem and the tank, cutting the foam tape in half (leaving half the tape on the emblem and the other half on the tank). I had to wear some heavy gloves when I wrapped the thread around my fingers as I ended up pulling the thread hard enough to cause good pain in them fingers, yah boy! Just start at the back or front of the emblem, working your way toward the other end while pulling up and down on the thread. It'll take awhile and may have taken me longer because, being afraid of marring my vivid black, I used wax as lubricant on the tank and the thread, smearing it on before I started. Eventually, you'll get through it and then you'll be facing the remaining foam tape on the tank. Before starting on the tape, I wiped the wax off the tank. Now, if your hands are clean (free of wax) you can rub at the edge of the tape with your fingertips or thumb, gradually "rolling" that remaining tape into a ball and then just lift it off. When you're done, you may have some glue remnants from the tape still on the tank. I did. I used a little "Goo Gone" on an old soft sock to wipe away the remaining glue. Goo Gone will not harm your paint, only your wax job. But you were going to wax it when you were done anyway, right? I don't know if your emblems are as ugly as mine were, but you're going to be floored when you stand back and look at the results of this no-cost mod. Good luck and enjoy!

Good luck, its worth it, only took about an hour
