Default Question re. my friends 08 Fat Boy

My friend just bought an 08 Fat Boy. It's stock and he wants to swap the pipes for V&H Big Shots Long and eventually put the Stage I a/c and an EFI tuner on. Can he put the pipes on now and the other stuff later, or will the bike be too lean w/out the complete stage 1 installed at the same time. My bike is a lil older than his so I dont want to give him bad advice. Thanks.

Some sort of fueler probably SHOULD be the first step, since the FI's seem to run a little lean straight out of the box.

That being said, pipes first will more than likely be fine, but when he adds more air coming in, then fuel mgmt is a must.

Good luck and post pics!

He can put the pipes first but it will run far cooler and better if he does all 3 at once.

I just ordered a set of Bub's for my wife's Deluxe. Several people in my chapter just put on slip on mufflers and did nothing else. From what I'm understanding as long as you don't put a stage 1, and just want sound you can put on the mufflers with no issue. I guess I will find out. She's not so much into the performance, but wants more sound. I have the Bub's on my Heritage, but I have a Stage 1 download and also Xied's. My bike runs great. Hopefully just installing mufflers won't be a problem.
