Default Tire pressures

I typically check my tire pressures in my basement garage where this time of year is typically 10-20 degrees cooler than the acutal outside temperature. Should I be checking my tires in conditions that are similar to actual riding temps or is there a acceptable variation factor when tires are checked "cold" no matter what the ambient temperture. I may be getting a little too technical about this but just wanted someone elses thoughts. Thanks

tire checks cold, no matter the air temp. My garage is Heat/cooled, makes no difference. According to three different wrnch buds, 9 out of 10 bikes they chack have 5 -10 # low air.

Tires being cold simply refers to tires that haven't been ridden on which would result in the air inside expanding. Whether it be a car, bike, etc

Typically when a manufacture states a tire pressure, that is a tire which is at 70F. As the temp goes up so doesn't the tire pressure, it's some Boyles law thing. So I would say check it as close to 70 as you can.

10 degrees would make around 1psi difference anyway....not enough to drag out the compressor for.
