The shakin is part of the fun. It doesnt shake at all once you take off. At least there is no buzz in your hands at highway speeds from the counter balancer in a balanced engine. Ive owned both and do more two up riding touring is the only way to go if your riding two up.

lotsa good thoughts on this . i'm probly more concerned for the wifes comfort than my own . to be honest the heritage is great to drive . but the weather is an issue for wife on the back ./ and sore hips . we're lookin to do some long hauls over the next few summers now that time is less a factor .and remember , if momma ain't happy , pappy ain't happy .

The Roadking might split the difference for you. Touring susp w/the windshield you are used to. Lighter than a full on tourer, but heavier than a Softail with all the good susp etc.
I testrode one a few months ago. It had some issues, but overall the ride was nice. Bad brake pulsation and excessive shake @ low speeds (worse than ANY other touring model I've ridden). The tops of those RKC leather (vinyl/whatever) covered hardbags were just falling apart.
That and it was purple. Not the one for me.
But the Roadking is a GREAT motorcycle !!!

I had an 05 Classic springer bought the 08 SG (bagger just the same) rode it for a month took out the soft tail for a ride. Made it 5 miles.. Took it home and sold it.. It's apples and oranges. IMO you cannot compare the ride of each bike. They are their own beast. I prefer the Touring over the ST. Plus I have more room on teh touring as in rider space. Felt cramped soon as I got on the ST.. I'm 5'10" so i'm not that tall..

You'll be the only one that can decide which is better for you.
