My solution was WildOne Chubby 518 bars. They work with the stock cables, though I switched mine out to chrome and ran the wires internally when I changed out the bars -- but you needn't go that far. And if cost is a factor, wait till you can get some "blemished" bars from WildOne (see them here). What they call blemished most people would call perfect, and you can save a few bucks. I also added a Mustang seat with backrest. Problem solved.
The 518s are on my short list of choices for mine. Putting them on the wife's Deluxe now and that'll give me a good idea of whether I'll like them or not. I have my Heritage bars pulled back as far as I can go which gives me about 12" of pb. The extra 2" on the 518s should be just about right. If not I may look into putting some 2" pb risers on.

Thank you so much!

I wanted to know the current set up in order to anticipate the needed one!

This is the only comparison I can think of to do without actually putting on new handle bars and experimenting that way.

p.s. Well, this worked for me anyway. I put on 4 inch pull back risers and rotated the handle bars down. More comfy now.

Great suggestion, I had never really thought about checking it without experimenting and spending $

Thanks

Seems like a lot of people are having this same problem. I had this problem with my stock bike and all I did was change my bars to make them come back closer and taller for me. Not everybody likes apes but they worked for me. My neck and shoulder pain went away immediately. A person doesn't have to switch to apes to solve this problem, but anything that will bring the bars up and closer to you should help your problem, good luck.

Apes are the best pain killer that isn't a narcotic.

Yes, I want to see the pictures as well. That's what I was thinking of doing as well. But I was just going to go with 2" risers. I'd like to see them. Also I was worried about the cables too. If I don't have to change them it would be great.
