Yep, I bought my StreetGlide because I was giving my son my old sportster. It was the first bike I ever owned. When I go home, I still hop on it when I just want to run down to the store, go around the block, or just have fun. The streetglide is great also. It is a lot more comfortable than the old sporty. When he goes off to college in a couple of years, I can just picture the scene. I will be crying and waving goodbye. The wife will lean over and say, "he will come home to visit." It's not the boy I am going to be worried about, he will do fine, but dammit, I have had that bike around for 24 years!![sm=smiley19.gif]

Good story.. and glad it ended right. There's something about getting up into a big fat tourbike frame, big fluffy seat, big fairing, bells and whistles and a bunch more weight.. It may have the engine, but to me, the Heritage IS a Harley. The Glides are a different animal altogether. It reaches beyond the level of "just how big does the bike have to be". To me, the threshold, top level is right at the FL softails or just maybe a road king. After that, it's just too much "stuff" and alot of the character of a "harley" is changed to a "tourbike". Not to crack on them too much, but it's just plain different.. and there's a huge jump from the sound, look and feel of a softail to a tourbike.. It's a big step to gain other things by switching, but some things are lost also in the process.
