Okay guys, I searched the previous threads and don't see anything already posted. I bought the MB008PS daisycutters which are supposed to be specifically for '07 and above softails. They won't bolt up. UGHHH.
I exchanged emails with Martin Bros and was told that it should and that I must have a problem (great customer service)...I asked for a new bracket, and was told there was "no need to exchange anything I have the right parts for my bike"
Here are a couple of pictures. Basically each header has a tab welded on, and then the bracket bolts to the back of the tranny case. The tube on the bracket is supposed to line up with the 2 tabs so you can run a bolt through it. But they don't line up close enough to try to force a bolt through.
Anyone put daisycutters on a Rocker? If so, which specific model did you order, and was it a direct bolt?
going off memory there are 2 holes on v&hines bracket
try each one or flip bracket? im not sure how it could be different
how close are you to a dealer? or someone you know w/ a 07 softy to take a peek
The dealer is the one that couldn't get them bolted up. They had the bike torn down for paint, so I tried to have them do the pipes while I was waiting.
There is no real way to rotate the bracket, considering grinding the weld, removing the tube and rewelding at a new angle, then chroming, but that is a pain in the @** for something that was supposed to directly bolt up.
I have daisycutters on my 09 Rocker. When purchased, I asked if I needed RSD or LSD. The only problem I had was one transmission bolt was to short. It felt like it only caught one thread. From your first picture, the mounting bracket looks like a RSD bracket. I just looked at the bracket on the bike and it looks like the complete opposite of mine.
