The older evo does vibrate enough to make using the mirrors difficult.
You could try different handle bar riser bushings to see if they will do a better job absorbing the vibrations making it up to your mirrors.
I loved my old EVO it was a fun bike one day after a nice ride I looked up and the Mirror vibrated so excessivley it broke off !!! The funny part was the stem was still half there it broke the stem right in half. Maybe some handle bar changes would help..times like this a 6 speed sure help. One thing i was shocked about was with my twin cam bike the Mirrors dont shake one bit. Crazy part is i wish I had my old bike back this smooth stuff is not for me
When I changed to poly riser bushings (installed 14" apes) I now get more vibs in the morrors. I can lift up my hand a little and steady it when I take a peek.
I have a buddy that owns a dyna rubber mount. He had the same problem after getting above 50 mph. We all put the dyna beads in our tires and removed the weights from the wheels. His mirrors no longer vibrate above 50 mph. It may be a combination of the engine vibration along with the balancing of the wheels. When the wheels are balanced, they are not done so with a vibrating engine. I have the counter-balanced and still use the dyna beads. The beads will go to where they are needed inside the tire for balance. It will create an extremely smooth ride. For your bike, you will need one ounce for the front wheel and two ounces for the rear wheel.
