Neutral light comes on in 5th gear

Default Neutral light comes on in 5th gear
Hey All...New to the site. I have an 04' Heritage, while driving down the freeway in 5th gear, the neutral light comes on. Downshift..it goes off.

Any ideas on what is going on??

I'll guess the obvious and go with the neutral switch. There's only two wires going to the neutral light. One is a constant power, and the other is a ground wire, which is connected to the neutral switch, so I'm not sure what else could be going on here, but I'm faaar from an expert.

If it's not a 5th gear indicator light like the 08s have for 6th gear I would think 1st place to look is the neutral switch as stated.

Might have to thanks...looks hard to get at...when I shift to 5th it comes on.

It does still work for actually neutral

Check the code! It sounds like a turn/blinker short. Mine did the same thing as I was relocating the front turn signals. After that all was GOOD.
