Default 2007 FXSTC - New Owner

Had it 2 1/2 weeks - has 400 miles on it now. Could not be happier with it. Engine is torquier (noticeably), my tranny is trouble-free ( as quiet as previous 5 speeds I owned) and the 6th speed is quite a nice upgrade at speeds over 70 mph. It definately drops the RPM's down to a more comfortable level. A little bit more engine heat I'd say, but not uncomfortable. Passing at all speeds is vastly improved - has more "get up and go" as opposed to a stock TC 88. Exhaust is way too quiet for my tastes - throatier? Have no idea - still sounds like a sewing machine to me. C'mon aftermarket!!!! Seat is very, very comfortable - definately a keeper for 2-up riding. You can debate the looks all day - and opinions will vary of course - but comfort is definately a plus with this one for riding w/ a passenger (for them too).

Brakes - nothing stands out as being significantly better. Wheels and tires - Very nice looking. Love the stock rims on these. Reduced Effort Clutch - Nice improvement from years past. Fuel mileage - 37 mpg, 39.5 mpg and 40 mpg respectively the (3) times I have filld up/added fuel. I ride about 50/50 city and highway, so it is clearly improving and getting in the neighborhood of my 05' standard with FI. Forward controls have been kicked out to the sides a little more - nice improvement when swinging your right leg out around AC and resting heals on front pegs.

Bike handles well, rides well, stops well, etc. I'd say a clear improvement to power with this engine and tranny. I'm just waiting on the aftermarket to catch up and will leave her stock until later this winter when had time to read some more reviews and some more parts and better information becomes available. Going from an 05' FXSTI to this was worth it to me, but I did make out nice on my old bike, so that probably helps too. So far, I'd recommend it if looking at them. I'd like to nit-pick some things, but nothing has popped up as of yet with it. I'll definately add to this post as I have more information to share.

Nice ride. I could live with that. The seat looks real comfy and I dig the rear wheel. Have fun.

I've got just over 800 miles on my '06 FSXT w/ the same chrome wheel setup as yours...I get a lot of traffic-light stares and thumbs up because of those rims and the 200 rear...that or maybe it's because I'm SO damn handsome... The "centerline" look of the back wheel really helped sell me on the bike(that and the $1500.00 they took off the price of the '06)... I wish I had your seat/sissy bar/backrest...Nice bike...Enjoy!
