The horn inside is garbage, you can replace it with a louder horn without too trouble and use it as your primary (Kinda Cool), I liked the horn(and hated the softail coil bracket), so I made a coil bracket out of it.
What horn do I use to replace the innards? I am using this as my primary horn, and yes, it does suck.
Just a small buell horn will work, take that baby apart, get some scrap, your favorite cocktail, and make it work. the alternative is you can bolt a real horn to the bottom of your tranny case. Exile sells a kit, but it's not hard to do. just find a bolt that fits the threads. if you don't live in cali, you could even bolt a horn to the side of the tranny case. you should see an empty thread hole there. just wire it up good cause you connections could get wet down there.
I think the horn looks great on the Crossbones, but part of me hates to cover up the nice looking springer shock mechanism between the coils. If I ended up getting the horn, I won't wire it; I'll add it on for the nostalgic looks and continue to use the side mounted horn.
It fits. Its a direct bolt on. It comes with everything you need. Dont believe the catalog or the stealer
Hey Taino, I love your front end! Three questions if you don't mind:
1. Did you cut down your front end and lower it?
2. You installed the HD brand horn correct?
3. Where the hell did you find those chubby bars? Love 'em.
