Default Not Loud Enough!

Put on my V&H straight shot slip-ons today. Not loud enough for me. Like the deep rumble but want that waaaay louder! Want babies to cry when I drive by. If I install the Big Sucker stage I a/c will it add to the volume or it's unrelated? Help!

Intake won't change the sound much unless you do a tune with it. Even then it won't be that much louder. If you just ride it for a few thousand miles it'll get louder as you go.

That's a rather unusual requirement for an exhaust system. I don't think the mom's will appreciate it.

Can't you run it without baffles. I don't think you can go much louder than straight pipes

Cam it - that will make it louder and give a bit of a lumpy idle.

You take out the baffles and it'll lose back presure. Those pipes are at about 97db's (if I remember correctly). I had them on my Sportster. They got compliments all the time. They do get louder the more you ride. Also..if you're just out to make babies cry...you're probably gonna end up with lots of tickets and pissed off neighbors. I say ride with what you've got for a bit and see how you feel then. They really are nice sounding pipes.

I was once like you. But after a few months and ears ringing for nearly two days after a ride, I removed my Rush 3.5 inch baffles and put on dome Rinehart slip ons on my V/H true duals. Much more comfortable to ride and the wife enjoys it much more...

IF you wnat that kind of LOUD you need true dual fishtails with no baffles and a cam. I ran that combo on my bike for while. People could hear me coming from blocks away. The babies mama's didn't cry, they all jumped on back for a ride!

LOL

You could replace the baffles with Big City Thunder ones. That would make it a lot louder.

Don't do anything until you ride for about a thousand miles. The baffles will break in and the sound will get deeper and louder. My Rinehart did that.
