Default Harley lowering shocks?

Has anyone tried the Harley lowering shocks? I want to lower my 10 FXSTC and the Harley ones (#54588-94) are cheaper than Progressive. Maybe Progressive makes them for Harley?

I have a set. Lowers rear fender ~1", seat about 3/4". Rides a little firmer, may bottom out sooner or scrape a little more often jst depends how you ride, 1up or 2up... they are adjustable. Do not buy them new - not worth it imo. Can be found used for $75-100. Some add a bolt kit to the stock shocks to lower their bike. Will give the same ride is the HD lowering shocks.

You can't go wrong with the Progressive 422's. Try out Dr V-twin or eastern performance for a good price on the Progressive's.

Dont buy the HD Lowering Shocks new all they are are your stock shocks withthe lowering bolts installed and they will only go 1" lower. Either go with a better set of lowering bolts like the Burn Out Cycles , AN, or even the E Bay ones so you can adjust up to 2 " lower or get better shocks Progressive , or an air ride set up

Is there another brand of shock that folks out there would recommend. More options the better!

I have seen some of the members on this Forum talk about the Ultima Shocks off E Bay , they are supposed to be adjustable and are a lot less $ than Progressive

No, progressive does not make the shocks for Harley. I am about 90 percent sure they say "Showa" on the shocks.
I have the lowering shocks on now. I had the lowering bolts, I think the lowering shocks ride better.
I got them off another member for around a hundred bucks.
If you are interested, I have a set of stock shocks with burly lowering bolts already installed, PM me if you are.

Always wondered if their is a diff in ride. From what I could tell and have been told, the standard and lowering shock is the same shock. The lowering shock housing is longer, hence lowers the bike like bolts do. But, if you say they ride better, Im good with that too!

I have had them on for a couple of hundred miles now. They seem to ride better than the set with the lowering bolts. However, with the lowering bolts I had the bike lowered 2 inches, which may be why the did not ride so hot.
I do not know if they are the same shock or not.
