Yep the power is a huge differece. And the size...well lets put it this way, I don't think you can fit a bigger size compressor in that spot. Very tight fit. The rear end definatley rises alot faster. I'm amazed at the speed difference.
It's also alot louder too. No big deal.

Thanx man! So did "JD" do your install?

This is my first time taken out the Shotgun Shock since i first installed it. Let me tell ya what a breeze it was this time....slam bamm slamm bamm...DONE! The only thing that cought me off guard was the size difference between the 2 compressors.

As i was taken this thing apart i was thinken about this "how much time/headache would it be to uninstall this unit and change my tranny fluids".....I started to laugh at myself... lets put it this way.. I'm not one bit concerned about it. It was that easy!

SHOTGUN SHOCK ROCKS IT!

I installed it myself... I took it to JD because one of the fitting's that came from the manufacturer wasn't tight enough, therefore it wouldn't air up the ride. Something real simple at the time.. I live about 20 minutes from JD's shop in Orange County, so it was easy for me to stop by.. I called him late Friday evening and he was willing to come into the shop on his day off (Saturday) to figure out the problem...THAT'S SERVICE!!. Anyways, I can't say enough about "ShotGun Shock", in my humble opinion, it's the best around.. I'm glad to see everything is back in order with your sled...

I finally got around to shipping my unit back to him for warranty work. I emailed him to ask about the new compressor, and what it would cost me to upgrade. His response was "don't worry about it. I'll send it when I ship your shocks back." He's been great to deal with!

Thanks to this, and some other related threads, I finally decided to bite the bullet and get an air ride setup. I do too much riding with variable setups, from stripped down solo to full dress two-up, and just can't change the settings on the shocks every time. I found a spot where it was as close to middle ground as possible, but still too stiff for solo and not quite enough fully loaded.

I had done some research a couple of years ago, and at time had pretty well decided I wanted the SAS. I never pulled the trigger back then, and am now glad I waited. Going back a few days ago and redoing my research, I found several threads regarding the Shotgun Shocks setup, and in reading everything I could find it sounded like they were the perfect solution for me.

Also, many have said what great service JD had provided to them, and that counts a lot. I had pretty well decided I was going to get them, but wasn't sure if I was going to wait and make a trip back down South to have them install, or try it myself. I sent an email to JD this afternoon, and damned if he didn't reply back within minutes. I sent another couple of follow-ups, and each time he responded very quickly (even though it was a Sunday). Incredible response, and very much appreciated!

Bottom line, I just ordered the kit and can't wait to install this week. While most companies would have waited until Monday to even think about reading the email, my kit will be on its way and I should have it on Tuesday.

KUDOS to JD for such great customer service, and also for such an innovative air ride design!

Thanks to those folks here who took the time to post on the subject - what a great resource we have!

Roger

Another Update....I went on a 200 mile 2-up ride today and another thing i noticed with this updated bigger compressor was while adjusting the shock ride on the fly the unit was VERY RESPOSIVE to ADJUSTMENT. Quick!!

Another great job by Shotgun Shock.

I under stand you guys all have Soft Tails but JD is working on a Bagger setup. My 2010 Ultra Limited has ABS (Which is mounted where you guys are currently mounting the compressors.) I really want to run ShotGun's air system and have a few Idea's on alternative places to mount the Compressor. Do you guys have a close estimate on the size of the Bigger compressor in inches? I am considering the possibility of mounting it inside the BatWing depending on size (as I have seen other's mounted in here). Other places are a Custom box to hide it under Tour-Pak or some sort of Quick disconnect set up and Mount it inside Saddlebag. Any Ideas of Info would be great as there is little info at this point.

Thanks for any help

Does anyone know how much that new compressor is? My old shotgun compressor works fine but I always got to have the latest and greatest.

I had an issue with my first Shotgun shock and after speaking with JD he had a replacement on the way. I was able to keep the one on my bike so I could keep riding and when the new one came (with larger compressor) I switched them out and sent the first one back. I offered a credit card number on the second unit but JD said after talking with me he could tell I was an honest guy so I essentially had two units at once. This is unheard of customer service! He either answered his phone or prompty returned my calls and was super nice through the whole process.
