Default wheel noise

anybody else have a noisy front wheel??? MIne sounds like it might be the pads rubbing the rotor its hard to tell with the engine rumbling. If it were the bearings it would be more of a humming noise no????

kill the engine and then try the brakes and see if the noise changes.

I have had that noise as well, (still do) sounds like metal on metal... I got my new to me 01 Heritage in April and have asked about this since I have had it. I have been told it is normal, etc. I had my bike in last Monday and they too said brakes were fine, it is normal noise with these things. I now at least feel better about it. I get the noise while cruising, and when I apply the brakes a little bit it goes away. I get the same sound from the rear brake too. Everyone also mentioned that with the shield on, it makes more noises apparent. I have not lost any gas mileage so I am fairly confident that I do not have a brake hanging up or dragging!

well that was easy to solve. I put the front end in the air and pulled the caliper. Sent that wheel round and round Quiet as a mouse!!!!! I guess I need to ask if there are quieter brake pads out there. thanx charlie
