10k miles on my deluxe and time to replace the rear tire. Should i replace it with another stock dunlap or should i go with a metzler or something else?
I have almost 10K too. Just ordered Avons. Had 'em on another scoot and loved 'em. AM41 on the front and AM42 on the rear, I think. I was also looking forward to the opportunity to get those whitewalls off of there. I'm goin' black. Here's what it's gonna look like.
it depends on your driving. i loved the metzler but not the 4700 miles it lasted. roadsmart was ok to 6k
i have the crossbones tire and it last 11k. i am talking my 200 tire. i tried avon on the front and it was best front tire i used.
I got the ME 880 Metzler Wide White Walls, I just replaced my rear. Do yourself a favor and their are a lot better choices and cheaper than the Dunlop. The ME 880 is made for heavy bikes and will work great on the Deluxe, such as ours. http://www.us.metzelermoto.com/web/c...catalog/custom

+1 I replaced mine at about 9K with the Metzler as well. It seems to be holding up very nicely and I'm much happier with it. It seems to grip much nicer than the stock Dunlap did. I'm planning on changing my FBL's tire to a Metzler when it goes as well.
