My bike had those already installed. Removed the round spacers and drilled out some threaded stock to run the wires through. Detach sissy bar clears perfect.
I like that idea, why did HD think they needed to space them out another 1/2"?
I don't know why they changed to the phucked up one they have now. I had one on my 84 that just extended the rear of the strut straight back a few inches. It just bolted on over the strut and when installed it looked totally stock. Just made the strut look a few inches longer. Totally unnoticeable to the causal observer.

I have the original Harley Davidson relocation kit installed on my Lo. Looks ok.
I also have the Softail detachable saddlebags and they really match the looks of the bike.
