86 softail
I had an 84 that I rode for 20 years and wish I had never gotten rid of it. Don't know of any issues with the 86's and I'd buy another of that vintage in a heartbeat. In fact I have been looking here and on ebay to see if I can find a mostly stock one for sale but they are getting hard to find in stock condition. My 84 had a couple of issues but it was a 1st year Evo and they had any problems worked out by 86.
If you are use to the newer ones you will have some vibration to deal with as they are a solid mount motor without the counterbalancers that the twin cams have.
The vibration can be lessened by balancing the flywheels, rods and pistons but that ain't cheap.
