Default compensator nut

is it a commond fault or does most of them come loose? on a 86 softail what the tourqe ft. lbs for the compensator nut? if this was loose would it make a grinding noise? (but not all the time)

mine came off my 2011 after 200 miles but its a differant setup than yours.i dont think the old setup gives problems but the new one has.and if it comes off you arnt going eny where.
