Ok Gentleman, heres what i did to my 2005 Deuce FI. I started with a deluxe rear fender and cut about 4 inches out of the center, Fabbed up an insert out of sheetmetal, framed in a box for the computer to sit in. and slapped it on the back of my ride. I love it. wish it came like this stock!
I know the hard core deuce fans are going to hate on me for this but i just coudlnt get over that ugly rear fender.
So here are a few pics of what i started out with and how it turned out.
might be too late, but you could have stretched the ecu harness a little to get the ecu to lie flat on top of the battery and then you can get your seat made to go further against the rear fender to give it a lower stance. looks good though. nice job! need to do something cool with turn signals/light issue now
Hey thanks for the support guys! Harleycharlie that is a sweeet ride ive checked it out in the past, didnt think about the whole ecm thing that would have been a great idea as well, just ready to get it painted now..
Flat black tank and all or matched to tank (stock color) what do you think?
I like paint that shines, just seems more artistic, to see a reflection of chrome, and I'm burned out on all these all blacked out bikes its not unique any more. shiny black always looks great with chrome so my vote is GLOSS black, but it is YOUR bike, make it that!!
Flat black tank and all or matched to tank (stock color) what do you think?
how about both, flat black base and gloss scallops, but would have to pull tank off to do it...just an idea...the opinion that matters the most it's yours
Well Tommy, im gonna say if your down for removing your tank and dropping some coin, I'd go with gloss black with some cool HD emblems on the tank maybe some pinstripes. But if you don't want to throw down the cash for a cherry blk paint job, I would paint the refender to match the tank. If you want that raw homebuilt rat look do it all flat blk, hell it's just paint, money, and time. I't your ride bro, do what makes you happy. Just dont trailer it....hehe.
