"The most comfortable seat HD makes is the unpadded version of your seat. It ain't about the amount of padding/gel. It's about the shape. As to having to find a new way to hang on to the bars.........Something ain't adjusted properly."
I learned to not grip the bars so tight. That fixed the numb hands. But I never had that problem with my previous 01 Softail. I guess I'll go to HD and pay the $$ for a setup check.

Which seat do you recommend?
I use the HD 52004-25 (standard).
But have considered going to the 52006-47B (deluxe) model with the skirt. But it will have to wait. Since I'm currently laid up with a broken leg. And I also have two other bikes I'm wanting to do some upgrades on. And this change isn't anything but a cosmetic upgrade. They are both the same seat except for the skirt. I suppose I could sell some of my takeoff parts to get the money. But I like to keep those things in case I ever get rid of it. I think it's a good idea to have the stock parts to go back to.
My Hawk GT runs a Corgin Gunfighter and I love it. My WR250R will one day have a Corbin.
There are a multitude of great seats out there. And I could write pages on the subject. You have so many more choices available to us thanks to the internet.
Those pipes are eBay specials....Noname fishtail: $25.00. Paughco 2/1 for preinjected twimcam with welded in O2 bungs: $150.00. Hightemp coating: Locally sprayed $100.00. I blasted the chrome off prior to coating myself to save a few bucks. I made my own mounts. They sound great, not too loud.....just right. I had V&H Bigshots before the wreck. I want to try a newer coating. And will put a set of Hooker short black dragpipes on while I get that done. Got them from a board member for $125 new in the box.
DC....I am going to come steal your bike one of these days... I LOVE IT....
I am the original "Rollin Stone". I rarely stay in the same town more than a couple of days at a time. Good luck finding me.........But Hey! I'm glad ya like it.

This was my first post on the Forum. Problem solved.
I just returned from Sturgis (5,190 miles). I am happy to say the bike is as comfortable as my previous bike. I can now ride hard for 13 days straight, and want to ride some more!
Ths solutions:
Seat - with the original seat I tried a gel pad and then beads. No good. Changed to the 1925 tractor seat and now all is good.
Shocks - adjusted the preload to better fit my weight (220 lbs) and the weight of my luggage.
Front fork - had the dealer adjust the fall-away before I left for Sturgis.
Oh.... forgot - I also removed the wheel weights and added that stuff that balances and seals the tube (in the event of a flat). Seemed to really smooth things out!
Still getting used to the foot clutch, but is getting easier.
