Default Crossbones with 16s

OK, I am really close to pulling the trigger on bars. I am 5' 11", I am also running a badlander seat. My question is for those of you who have 16s, how tall are you and where are your hands in relation to your shoulders? I am a little worried that 16s will be too much and 14s not enough. I am not real patient so I'm not too keen on waiting 4 weeks for custom bars, I thought about Wild 1s but don't like how wide they are at the base. Plus, they don't have 14s. If you have Nash bars, how do you keep them from slipping. I know what ideas there are for this, but I am curious as to what the majority has done

I am not sure how the difference in front ends changes the position where the bars clamp if that makes sense. I have set on a deluxe with 16s and it felt fine, a dyna and it felt fine, but I can't find a Springer here with 16s. I had my wife maeasure, I held a broom stick and she measured from the broom stick to the base of my stock bars. It would be any where from 16 1/2 to 17 1/2", but that was measured at the angle from the risers to the broom stick. There was about 8" or so of pull back. If I leaned forward, but held them at shoulder level it was still at 15 1/2 or so, but that was not a riding position I would ever want. Based on these measurements I am trying to figure out if I'd be good with 16"s. I am leaning toward the Carlini evil springers, although the OL is not keen on the price

My 02 with 16's will sit the same as your crossbones....

I'm 5'10" and they sit slightly above my shoulders with the LePera bare bones seat

If this is your everyday bike and you do a decent amount of highway riding, go shorter...

They are comfortable for 50 miles at a time.... I've done 100 and it wears me out every time... You will feel like you did 1000 sit-ups cause your a parachute holding yourself up...

I don't know the height difference on a Springer, but the Wild 1's have a lot of pull back and also come down a bit if that makes sense. At least compared to my Carlini's they do.

Yeah that makes sense....my only real hang up with the wild 1s is that huge center width. I saw somewhere that said it was only like 9.5", but I measured my stockers and it was like 10. The wild 1s look way wider at the base.

Drew, you find anything out from Carlini?

I'm 5' 11" and my 16's with 1inch risers put my hands right at shoulder height.
I now have them on a set of 3.5inch risers and my hands are at about eye level.
I found both heights to be comfortable and have no problems doing long road trips. I think if you have an strong headwind and no windshield your going to feel it more and get tired sooner no matter what bars your running.

Got 16" gimps on my bones. I'm 6' and when riding they hit me about eye height. I put helicoils in both my risers so i could tighten my bars down more and then used drywall sanding screen to take up some space and they wont budge.
