What 14s are you eyeballin? I have an 08 xbones and have been looking for a good set of black 14 springer ape hangers and haven't found any really good options that weren't 1" narrows.

Sorry Gentleman this is a little dated ... Right here are 16" and kept the 2" Risers Factory, Tell you the Truth No Problems thus far ... Once i Customed the Seat and Lowered the Seat Springs 1" - These Bars are Eye Level with Major Control ..... In fact i tried swapping for a actual eyeball then wrenched on a 14 .... Not to much difference from the Factory Bars to the 14"s No Offense .... 16's Were the Route i went, Just about to add the Engine Guard and the Black Diamond Cables in a minute ...

Ride & Hard & Solid !!

I'm sitin in the same seat...deciding on 14s or 16s. I think I'm leaning towards the 14 with the idea that I can always increase riser height fairly easy.

I think if I were running a stock seat or an aftermarket springer seat with any padding, 16s would be fine. The badlander I am running sits me down a bit lower though....
