I was quite tired of "Freebird" the first time I heard it, before it ended.
One day, driving back up from C-Bus, Freebird came on the radio.
I changed it right away, and my friend was like, "Hey, put that station back, that was Freebird!!!"
I was like "No, it's awful. And you're not my friend any longer."
I then pulled over and dropped him off on the highway.
Story goes, dude was then mauled by a pack of wild deer fattening up for hibernation. I never told his family about the radio incident. I just told them he decided to walk home.
"From Columbus to Cleveland?" they asked. I shed a tear and nodded.
"He's as Free as a Bird now." his father said at the funeral.
Nobody understood why I found that so funny. They all said it was just how I dealt with the grief.
