Bike only has 5000 miles in it. Check engine light does not come on. I've had problems with pressure before when I had the guts of the tank swapped to this painted tank. A pressure test makes sense. Gunk in the tank is also possible. I know the painter was careful but who knows what was in that tank before it was painted. Tank was purchased on Ebay. All that ECM MAP sensor stuff is beyond my basic mechanical abilities. I see a trip to the shop in my future.

I also remember the painter putting some epoxy on the edge of the the fill hole (and the edge of the paint) to act as a seal against paint fumes I presume so the paint doesn't bubble up around the fill hole. Upon close inpection I noticed the thin epoxy layer has started to peel a little. I might have a small piece of epoxy gunk in there is what I'm saying.

I had a bike that kept clogging my clear inline filter after painting the tank.

Made it past the screen in the petcock like it wasn't there.

You might have paint in places far from the tank by now.

My rocker is operational again. Turns out there was another bad connection in the tank so there was loss of pressure which created the sputtering. Nothing to do with the FuelPak as the initial topic implied. I had a different HD dealer do the work and they were great to work with. First time I ever praise a dealer. Another HD stealer did the tank swap after I got it painted and apparently they managed to screw up not one, but two connections in there - brutal. Anywho, thanks for all the help. Cheers!

Shame that first dealer screwed up and you had to go to another to get it right.
That epoxy coming loose shouldn't be happening with what the paint job cost you.
Glad you got that great lookin Rocker rideable.

Agreed. I'll send them an email to see what they recommend.

I should mention that the bike was difficult to start cold. It's all good now. Low gas tank pressure was the culprit. Even feels like I now have smoother power all around.

Default Loss of power

I had a similar problem on my Rocker. Ended up being a crimped fuel line inside the tank. Check your fuel pressure.
