Went out for a ride this morning and found dead battery. It's my fault, I've been nursing this thing for a couple months. Now it cost me a good day of riding. The OEM battery lasted 5 years so I can't complain.
What alternatives are there to the HD OEM batterys? Will probably just go to the dealer and pick up a new one, but wanted to ask the question first.
Dang you missed a great ride. Ended up at the Dr. Pepper malt shop. Found some great back roads that had some great curves. I have an old battery from battery plus I forgot I had if you need to get by for a few weeks.

I guess things happen for a reason. I ended up getting a lot of stuff done getting ready for the baby, but man I'm still pissed at myself. If I would have just plugged it in the day before when I was detailing the bike it would have been fine. Oh well, there's a great little cafe (Mary's) in Strewn, TX that has good chicken fried steaks and is right there close to hwy 4 and some great roads. Maybe we can hit that in the next week or two. Or if you have something else in mind, let me know. I just want to get out and ride. It's been two weeks now. My new (actually third hand) seat will be in so I want to give it a try.
I just got a dealer replacement a few months back, and it died while my bike was being fixed. I am going to see if they will warranty it as it has not been close to a year. I normally ride enough to keep it charged but have never used a tender. The last Harley battery lasted 5 years for me too.
